Mr. John Paul Cook’s
family traveled to
Shamrock in the Panhan-
dle of our fair state after

pond in the canyon below

The family of B. W.
Smith would like to let the
people of Alto know that his
sister, Bertha Jenkins of
St. Anthony, Idaho, died
Jan. 1, 1984 on her birth-
day. She was 74 years old.
She had another brother,
James Smith, who lives in
Little Rock, Ark.
Mrs. W. Worbington
visited Mr. and Mrs.
LaMaer Smith and Mr. and
Mrs. T. J. Worbington who
live at Lake Jacksonville.
Mr. T. D. Little is in the
hospital in Shreveport, La.
He has been in the hospital
fnr seven weeks and if
anyone would like to write

Mr. Valentine Waddleton
of our Alto community is in
Memorial Hospital in
Lufkin, Room 338. Mr.
Waddleton had surgery last
week and is looking for-
ward to coming home soon.
Mr. Waddleton is a trustee
for the Alto ISD.
Mr. and Mrs. Ford
Gilcrease visited her two
sisters, Millie Web and
Ermine Web and brother,
J. T. Web in Baytown for
three days before Christ-
mas, then wc to Katy, Tx.
to visit their si n, Jim and
wife Barbara Gilcrease
and children, Jerry, Bradly
and Stacey. Then they
returned home for a rest
and a visit with their two
granddaughters, Shannon
and Keiyn for a week.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Wallace were also on the
road last week. They went
to Richland Springs to visit

holidays by Bob and Linda
Kelley and their three
children, Kim, Brent and
Kelli from Smithville. Also
visiting with the Smiths
were Stan and Martha
Henderson with their two
sons, Scott and Hill.
Scott is a student at the
Air Force Academy,
Colorado Springs, Colo,
and Hill is a student at Nor-
th Georgia College in Dat-
tlonga, Georgia. Stan and
Martha are from Athens,
Georgia
Donna Cook has begun
working as Dr Robert
Carroll’s office secretary
in the Alto Medical Clinic.
The clinic is open 8am un
til 12 noon on Tuesday and
Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll
Bennett visited last week
with Mrs. B. W. Williams
and sister Tottie, who live
just out of Montgomery and
to attend the wedding of
her nephew, Gentry Car-
twright. Gentry married
Loretta Mathis. The wed
ding was held at the Mims
Baptist Church in Conroe.
The flower girl was Lin-
dsey Cartwright and the
ring bearer was Matthew
Cartwright Two hundred
fifty friends and family at-
tended the wedding.
