TORS has established a scholarship fund in memory’ ofLaverne Jarboe. It is open
to any graduating senior from Cleveland High School who is pursuing a degree in
education. The scholarship monies may be applied toward the cost of tuition, fees,
or books. Applications can be picked up from Clydie Williams, CHS Counselor.

THE GREATER CLEVELAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE will host the
Secretaries' Luncheon on Tuesday, April 25th at 12:00 noon at The Hot Biscuit
Restaurant. Employers are encouraged to bring their employees (secretaries,
receptionist, bookkeeper, clerical, employee). The Chamber of Commerce is
accepting nominations for a Secretary of the Year Award. Please send your
nominations and reason you thinkyour nominee should be chosen "Secretary ofthe
Year" to: Greater Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of the Year, P.O.
Box 1733, Cleveland, Tx. 77328-1733. The cut off date for nominees will be April
13, 1995 at 4PM. Lunch will consist of grilled chicken, salad, vegetable, baked
potato, dessert, tea or coffee. The total cost per meal will be $15.00 per person.
You may purchase your tickets at the Chamber Office, 203 S. Bonham. Cut offdate
for purchasing tickets will be April 24th at 4PM. There will be door prizes, which
have been donated by various merchants in the Cleveland area.
CLEVELAND FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH cordially invites you to its Easter
Pageant, a celebration of the life of Jesus Christ in drama and song. The
performances will be on Friday, April 14 at 8PM and on Saturday and Sunday,
April 15 and 16 at 7PM.
TARKINGTON PRAIRIE MASONIC LODGE #498 will hold its 1st Annual Fish
Fry on Friday, April 14thfrom 10AM-2PM. Adults $5.00 children $3.50. Proceeds

IF YOU EVER WENT TO OLD DOLEN SCHOOL, we want to hear from you.
You, your'relatives andfriends are invited to a school reunion at the Dolen Baptist
Church Gym on Saturday, May 6th from 5PM-9PM. We will have Gospel music,
food, fun and fellowship. Supper furnished by Church. This begins our church
homecoming activities. We will have Revival Services starting May 7th with Alvin
Tomlinson preaching each night through Friday, May 12th. Former students of
Dolen School please help us spread he word about the reunion. For more

FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will be holding a salad luncheon and
silent auction on April 19 from 11-2:00PM, cost is $4.00 for lunch. Contact the

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH is sponsoring two Ladies Step Aerobic Classes.
Classes meet on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays in the First Baptist Church
Family Life Center 400 Hanson. The first class is from 4:30-5:30 and the second
class is from 7:00-8:00 PM. Child care is provided for children ages birth to 4
years old. The cost is a one time $10.00 registration fee and a $20.00 monthly fee.
You can come sign up for the Step Aerobics at any of the regularly scheduled class

VFW POST #1839, Cleveland, Tx. will hold its annual EASTER EGG HUNT on
Saturday, April 15th at 10AM for children up to 12 yrs. old, the public is invited,
bring your basket. There will be cash prizes and raffle for Easter Baskets.

FESTIVAL. Saturday, April 29, 1995 from 10AM-6PM at the Cleveland High
School. There will be excitement, entertainment, family fun, arts, crafts, dancers,
ethnic foods, drama, free shots, community medical information and a health fair.
AMNESTY MONTH AT THE LIBRARY. To celebrate National Library Week
and the coming of spring cleaning, the Austin Memorial Library will hold an
'amnesty month' on all bood fines during April. All children's and adult books will
not be charged the five cents per day fee for late books during this month. So, dig
in your closets, look under the bed, and search the bookshelvesfor overdue books!
Books can be returned twenth-four hours a day by using the book drop located in
the parking lot of the library. Happy hunting!
