REMEMBER CLEVELAND GRAIN COMPANY? The original store shown here in the fifties was first owned
by Noble Garvey, Sr. way back in the thirties (possibly in the twenties). It was later sold to Johnny Majnik and Joe
Emhoffer and last to Marvin Reaves and Ralph Davis. Reaves replaced the building with a new one some years
later and then it was torn down, after being in use for years. The location was on San Jacinto just north of the Heritage
Bank property. Standing on the loading dock at your right is Johnny Majnik, first an employee and later owner. He
was practically a lifetime "fixture" at Cleveland Grain. He appears to be leaning over taking a feed order from
someone in the Chevy at far right. And you can bet Johnny was smiling and making the customer feel welcome.
He was like that, never a bad word and everybody's friend. He's gone now and will be missed. He was a good man.
In Memory of Our Friend
