initial steps are now completed.

towns and industrial purposes. As
has been proven over and over

Ersatz Grass
Causes
Excitement
Folks in Silsbee going to the ;
opening of the Silsbee State Bank
last week were shocked when
they went past the new Neelies
National Bank on South Highway
96. What had been a gravel
landscape the day before was
green. Rumor had it that Jack
Brooks Bank had so much green
stuff that it was coming out of
their ears. State Bank partisans
were saying that it was just an-
other Brooks cover-up. Some
even suggested that if the Bank
was using artificial grass, tlie
green stuff inside might not be
kosher.
This newspaper has made an
exhaustive investigation of this
situation and can assure everyone
that everything is on the up and
up. We learned that progress in
grass growing has been made in
Silsbee, W. A. Robertson, Sils-
bee Contractor, is the local rep-
resentative of International Paper
Company and is distributor for
the new product, Turfiber. This
product contains (1) a cellulose
fiber which gives an immediate
appearance of green grass. (2)
winter grass seed which will pro-
vide a green winter turf when tlie
disappears. (3) Summer grass
seed which will be dormant this
winter and will replace the win-
ter grass next spring.
So, you see, don’t be suspi-
cious even if it is a Bank...Just
wonder what the State Bank is
going to do to top this.,.
