East Side Wins Boys' Intramural
Track, Field Meet; T-Boys Second
The Last Side thinly olads
romped to an easy win in the an-
nual Boys Intramural Track and
Field Meet by amassing 32 points
out of a possible 48.
Town Boys and Overflow placed
second and third in that o^dei
with 9 and 6 points respectively.
Schulz took third place in the 440
yd. dash for West Side’s single
tally.
High point man for the meet
was East Side’s Wecley Baasen
who scored 7 points in winning the
shot put, discus, and placing third
j.n the broad jump. Other leading
scorers: Billnitzer, East Side, 5
3-4; Miller, East Side, 5 3-4;
Schraub, Town Boys, 5 1-4; Bohis,
East Side, 4 3-4; and Eckert, Over-
flow, 4 1-2.
Meet l’ecords were bettered in
the shot put, discus, 50-yd. dash,
and the 100-yd. dash. The East
Side 880 yd. relay team of Bohis,
Janke, Miller, and Billnitzer also
established a new meet record in
that event.
Final results in all events are as
follows;
Shot Put: Baasen, East Side,
36’ 9 1-2”; Tiemann, Town Boys,
34’ 4 12”; Miller, East Side, 32’
4 1-2”.

Basketball Team
Wilbert Miller, stellar TLC bas-
ketball player, was placed on the
All-Conference Basketball Sec-
ond Team as selected by the coach-
es of the Junior Colleges partici-
pating in the conference. Miller,
a constant scorer, was the spark-
plug and leading scorer on the
TLC Bulldog squad.
The first and second teams as
selected by the coaches reads:
First Team : Vander Zee, Schrei-
ner; Hrachovy, Blinn; Simmons,
Victoria; Jochec, Blinn; Parrish,
Lamar. Second Team: Miller,
TLC; Smith, Corpus Christi; Mul-
cahy, Schreiner; Nygard, Whar-
ton; Wheeler, Lamar.

winning 11 and losing 11. Total
scoring for TLC was 1014 points.
Total scoring against TLC
amounted to 960 points. Average
game score for TLC was 46 1-11,

Southwest Texas State’s fifth
place winners in the Fort Worth
Exposition Golf Meet lambasted
the TLC golf team 9-3 in a dual
meet held at Max Starcke Park
Friday, March 28. The consistent

Netmen Begin Drills
Seven tennis hopefuls answered
Coach Fritz Lehnhoff’s call and
are now working out each after-
noon on Max Starcke Park’s
Courts.
The racket wielders include Wes- j
ton Luckenbach, former TLC let-|
terman from Fredericksburg; Mar-
vin Mace, Seguin; Robert Pape,
club-swingers of San Marcos
proved too much for the hot and
cold Bulldog team.
Sammie Terry carded a brilliant
1-urider par 71 in defeating L. J.
Walker 6 and 4, giving the Luth-
erans their entire three points.
Harrel Brau recovered nicely on
the back nine, but lost to J. Rus-
sell 2-up.
F. Trivino edged A1 Schmidt 3
and 1, and C. Jungman handed
Landa Schraub a 6 and 4 defeat.
Four men from each school parti-
cipated.
Tuesday, April 1, Coach Morck
and a six-man team will travel to
San Marcos for a return match.
Seguin; Wilbert Miller, Bartlett;
Emil Wahrmund, Fredericksburg;
Herbert Schubert, Seguin; and
Henry Lehnhoff, Seguin.
Efforts are being made to ar-
range matches cn the Starcke
courts soon.
