the Armljtice Day barbecue of the
Detroit Post No 505 of American
Legion held at the Legion hall
Tuesday night, composed of vet-
erans. their families and friends

family home in Detroit, fallowing
e>ght months illness.
Funeral services were held ut
the Fim Methodist Church in De-
rroit Tuesday afternoon at 1
o'clock, conducted by the pattor,
Rev. Robert McCoy, and Rev|
Bi t Betts, former pastor. Burial
rites, with Masonic honors, were
held at Forest Hill Cemetery,
north of Petty, Lamar County,
under the direction of Clarksville
Funeral Home. Pallbearers were
Knox Martin, O. I. Morris, T. E
Burks, E B. Stribling, John Lit-
trell and T. R Bailey.
Mr Blake was 77 years old,
born March 14, 1876, at Atlas.
Lamar County, and had made his
home in Lamar and Red River
Counties his entire life He was
martied to Mis* I lassie Smith at
Forest Hill Oct II, 1896, with
Rev P R Eagleberger, Method*
ist pastor, reading the service.
Mr. Blake had been, a number
of 'he Methodist Churcn 62 years,
and of the Masonic order 35 years
Surviv'n^ are Mis Blake, two
sons and two daughters: Lloyd
and C. M Blake, Oklahoma City;
Mrs Lillian Berry. Lubbock; and
Mrs H A. Sharp, Detroit; 12
grandchildren and eight great*
grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs
Cora Seibenthall and Mrs. Ethel
Evans, Honey Grove.

under the State program. The
Federal aid program wasannoun:*
ed at an earlier date and has b?en
approved by Pie Commissioners’
Ccurt This Federal aid program
consisted of the following roads:
“Wocdljnd to Manchester, 8 2
miles
“Savannah Springs to FM 44,
4 8 miles
“The State program picked up
the Woodland to Mancheiter desti
nation and brought it out to High-
way 37 at Negley This made a
total of 18.7 miles in these two
projects and will give a paved
road all the way from Woodland
to Highway 37,
“The two above mentioned
roads together with the three
which were published last week
m ikes a total of 31 9 miles for the
County from the two programs
The total cost of these projects is
$588 100 00.
“Both programs have now been
approved by the Court and work
orders may be expected soon.”

F. C. Bollins Dies
in K. R. Hospital
Francis Clinton Dollins retired
business man of Detroit, died un
expectedly at 11:30 p m Tuesday,
•t the Red River Hospital, where
he had been carried Monday.
Mr Dollins was born in Clark
County, Ark , Aug. 14, 1870, and
came to Texas with his family at
the age of 16. settling south of
Blossom He was married to Miss
Maggie Easley Dec 27. 1896, Rev.
Charles Manton reading the ser-
vice He moved to Detroit in
1900, and was connected with the
mercantile and other business In
terests here until his retirement 8
few months ago.
Surviving are Mrs Dollins, two
sons and two daughters: E. A.
Dollins. Houston; Scott Dollins,
Benton, Ark.; Mrs. Prentice
Wilson. Dallas, and Mrs. George
Bennett. Fort Worth; a grand*
daugiter. Mi:kalee Bennett, Fort
W'orth; a niece. Miss Dol'ins
WomacK, Blossom; a nephew, R
H Easley, Washington, D. C . and
a cousin, Dr Cifford McCain,
Bogata.
Funeral services are being held

tjmiiy home in Detroit, conducted
by Rev. Char'es McDowell, Jr.,
pastor of the First Christian
Church at Cl.rksville. Interment
was in the family plot in the
Knights of Honor cemetery at
Blossom. Pallbearers were Carl

Freshman Social
The Freshman class went skating
at Blossom Monday night. The
group enjoyed a full hour and a
half of skating.
