Community Calendar and
Announcement Policy
The Community Calendar and
Announcement sections are for non-
profit organizations such as churches,
schools, and benefits helping families
or certain groups. The benefit must run
what it is and where the money is going.
No prices will be allowed in the place-
ment. For example, no ticket price, no
door price or no prize price. "Donations
will be accepted" is acceptable lan-
guage, but no amount is allowed. Items
in question will be handled on a case-
by-case basis and placement or non-
placement will be at the discretion of
the editor and the publisher. The placer
always has the opportunity to pur-
chase an advertisement in the paper to
run the full announcement. If he or she
wishes to do so, they will be directed to
advertising for their assistance. Feel

Football Tickets
General admission football tickets
for the Sweetwater vs. Wall game may
be purchased at the Sweetwater ISD
administration building, 207 Musgrove,
beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
Ticket sales will end Friday, Sept. 21, at
1 p.m. The ball game will be played in
Wall with kick-off at 7:30 p.m. For more
information, call 235-8601 ext. 16.
Saturday, Sept. 22
A11 Evening of Dining & Music
The Loraine Masonic Lodge will
be hosting an evening of dining and
music Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Roscoe
Community Center. The meal will be
served from 5 to 9 p.m., which consists
of a brisket dinner with dessert and tea.
Music by Dusty Creek Band will start at
6 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the
door and carry-out meals are available.
Everyone is invited.
3D Archery Shoot
The Sweetwater Bow Hunter's
Association will have their 3D Archery
Shoot Saturday, Sept. 22 and Sunday,
Sept. 23, 2012, at Lake Trammell. The
public is welcome to join in the event
and it will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
each day. The shooting fee covers both
days and military and youth shoot free
(youth under 16 must be accompanied
by an adult). For more information, call
Mike Hart at 325-235-2902.
Sweetwater Rifle & Pistol Club
SRPC will conduct a sight-in day for
hunters that are going to Colorado,
New Mexico and Wyoming to hunt in
October. The range is located on Loop
170 - Airport loop road. The gate is on
the north side of the road across from
the SRPC building. The range will be
open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 22.
This is for any hunter to sight-in their
rifles. There is no charge for this ser-
vice. SRPC will furnish the man power
and targets to assist the hunters to
sight-in.
Monday, Sept. 24
Chamber of Commerce Banquet
The Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce
Annual Banquet will be held Monday,
Sept. 24, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. in the
Nolan County Coliseum Annex. Tickets
can be purchased at the Sweetwater
Chamber of Commerce located at 810
E. Broadway. For more information call

Sponsorships for Friday Night
Fight for the Cure
A list of business sponsorships is
being gathered for the Breast Cancer
Friday Night Fight for the Cure game
during the volleyball and football games
on Oct. 12 in Sweetwater. If you would
like your business name displayed on
the back of the shirts, please contact
organizers by Sept. 25. You may spon-
sor someone who has battled breast or
any cancer by placing their name on the
shirt. It can be in honor of or in memo-
ry. Last year, over 1,000 shirts were sold
and this event was a great success, so
please join us to help fight this disease.

iPads for Seventh Graders
Sweetwater Middle School seventh
graders may pick up their new iPads at
5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the
SMS cafeteria. Both a parent and the
student must be present for signatures
and money will have to be paid at this
time as well.

The September Artist of the Month at
the County-City Library is Wynelle Terry
of Roby. On display are her paintings and

org. The hours of the library are Monday
from 1-6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Velia Gomez Account
An account has been set up at Texas
National Bank for Velia Gomez to help
with travel expenses to and from can-
cer treatments. The account number is

Rogers Family Account
A benefit account has been set up at
Texas National Bank for the Rogers fam-
ily, who lost their home in a fire at 508
W. New Mexico on Sept. 14, 2012. The

Sawyers with medical and travel expens-
es to Ft. Worth for her cancer treatment
and surgeries.
Chapman Account
James Chapman, known as Tim to
friends and associates, was in a bike
wreck on April 12, 2012. He suffered a
head injury and was in surgery for seven
hours. Due to this injury, he lost his job
and is in need of financial help. Chapman
also lost his home in November 2011 to a
fire. An account has been set up at Texas
National Bank for Chapman to help with
medical bills and travel expenses to and
from Abilene. The account number is

Darrell Campbell Account
Donations are being accepted for Darrell
and Amber Campbell at First Financial

Snyder Police Corporal Darrell Campbell
was recently injured in the line of duty.
He is a former Sweetwater police officer.

Garrett, who lost all of her belonging in
the fire at Jack Lambert Apartments on

Men’s Downtown Bible Class
Every Sunday, at 9 a.m., the Men's
Downtown Bible Class will meet at the
Masonic Lodge. An invitation is extended
to all men to come and enjoy coffee,
donuts and worship before church. The
Masonic Lodge is located on the corner
of Oak and 4th.
Jessie Ortega Memorial Fund
The Jessie Ortega Memorial Fund
has been established with Sweetwater
Independent School District to help the
migrant students of the school district.

Meals on Wheels Drivers Needed
SNAP is in need of volunteers to
deliver meals for their Meals on Wheels
Program. Drivers are needed Tuesday
through Friday, but mostly on Tuesday
and Wednesday. Drivers will pick meals
up at 10:45 a.m. and it takes about 45
minutes to deliver one route of meals.
Those wanting to volunteer may call 236-
6344 and talk to Janet Patty.
