This Sunday being
Mother’s Day, a portion of
the church service will in-
clude recognition of all the
mothers present.
Plans are being made
for a church fellowship at
the pastor’s home on May
18.
A guest speaker will be
present at the church on
Sunday, May 26. Bro.
Curtis Gilbert, treasurer of
the Missionary Baptist As-
sociation of Texas, will be
present. A meal will follow
the morning service, and an
afternoon service will re-
place the regular Sunday
night service.
Mickie Freelen had an
early Mother’s Day this
past Sunday when her
daughter Tammy and
granddaughter, Brittany
and her husband, Jordan
Burt, and her daughter,
Emma Leigh, came in from
the Ft. Worth area in mid-
afternoon. Her daughters,
Linda Mitchell and Joyce
Shelton, and husband, Ken-
neth, were there, as well as
her son, James Alvin
Freelen and wife, Patricia.
It was the first time that all
her children had been to-
gether since January, 2011.
All went to Ta-Molly’s and
had supper together that
evening.
The MRI that was done
on Geneva Lee last week
showed another compres-
sion fracture in her back
since her last MRI, but she
is doing some better these
days.
