ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE IS-
SUANCE OF BONDS.
An ordinance authorizing the issuance of
bonds for the purpose of construction of
a system of waterworks and providing
for the levy and collection of a tax to pay
the interest and create a sinking fund
for the redemption of said bonds at
Maturity.
WHEREAS, at an election held for the
purpose on the 4th day of April, 1911, a
majority of the qualified voters who are
property taxpayers of the City as Poly-
technic, Texas, voting at said election, sus-
tained the proposition to issue the bonds
lereinafter described by a vote of 124 for
the issuance of bonds to a vote of 26 against
l! e issuance of bonds; therefore,
First. Be it ordained by the Board of
City Commisisoners of the City of Polytech-
nic, Texas, that the bonds of said city to be
< illcd, “City of Polytechnic Waterworks
Cone’s,” be issued under and by virtue of
Article 486, Revised Statutes of Texas, 1895,
for the purpose of construction of a system
of waterworks for said city.
Second. Said bonds snail be numbered
consecutively form one to thirty, inclusive,
s’iftll be of the denomination of $1000.00
rich, aggregating the sum of $30,000.00.

of July, 1911, shall become due and payable

any time after ten years from their date.
Fourth. They shall bear interest at the
rote of 5 per cent per annum, payable an-
nually on the 15th day of July, of each year.
Fifth. Principal and interest shall be
payable on the presentation and surrender
of bond or proper coupon at Fort Worth,
Texas.
Sixth. Said bonds shall be signed by the
Mayor, countersigned by the City Secretary
and registered by the City Treasurer and

each of them.

Seventh. The fac simile signature of the
Mayor and City 6ecretary may be litho-
graphed on the coupons.
Eighth* It is further ordained by the
Board of City Commissioners that to pay
the interest on said bonds and create a sink-
ing fund sufficient to discharge them at
muturity a tax of twenty-five cents on each
$100.00 valuation of all taxable property
in the said City of Polytechnic, shall be en-
iitiully levied on said property and an-
nually assessed und collected until said
tax is hereby levied for the currenl year,
md said tax is hereby levied for the cur-
rent year, and for each succeeding year
while said bonds are outstanding and the
same shall be assessed and aollected for the
current year and annually hereafter and
applied to the purpase named.
Ninth. It is also ordained that J. R.
Thomas and F. M. Bransford be authorized
to take ami have charge of said bonds pend-
ing their investigation by the Attorney Gen-
eral, and upuii tnsir approval and roglatra-
tion shall have authority to negotiate their
sale and receive for the city the proceeds
thereof.
