The family of Carolyn L Barth is saddened to announce her death on June 25, 2007.
She had been living for the last six and a half years in Palmer, Alaska.
Carolyn spent the last two and a half years in an assisted living facility in close proximity to one of her daughters' home.
She died peacefully in her sleep. She was 61 years old.
Carolyn was born in Ballinger, Texas in November 1945 to Benjamin Franklin Clendennen and Nancy Oreta Bradshaw.
Carolyn met her future husband Reo L Hartman, to whom she was married in 1959. They settled in Coleman, Texas
where Carolyn gave birth to her eight children Anna, Paul, Paula, Brenda, William, Nancy, Robert, and Lorena. After the
end of their marriage, Carolyn moved to Abilene, Texas where she resided until moving to Palmer, Alaska to be near
family.
Carolyn was a mother and housewife for many years. She began her career in food service in 1973 and worked primarily
for PaPa Bear's, Hendrick Medical Center, and Hardin Simmons University. When not working, she enjoyed gardening,
bowling, and friends.
Carolyn will be missed by her family and friends, her children, along with their respective spouses, and her grandchildren
Tonia Gilbert, Jonathon, Bethany, and Candace Rogers, Zackery and Angelica Nice, William, Mercedes, Alfredo, John-
Paul, and Jasmine Hernandez, Morningstar (Rachel) and Manual (Alex) Hartman (Metzger).
Carolyn is survived by her sister and brother Lola Davis, and Charles Clendennen and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn
was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Nancy, Martha, and Mary; brothers, Aubrey, Wesley, Edward, Cecil, and
Billy; children, Paul and William Hartman and a grandchild, Adrian Hartman.
A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277
South. Viewing for family and friends is scheduled on Monday, July 2, 2007 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Elmwood Funeral
