and parents of girls who are in-
terested tn becoming Scouts, will
be held at the Girl Scout Little
House, Mti South High Street on
Tuesday, Sept. :H, at 7:30 p. nt.
The purpose ol tills meeting is
to determine whether Girl Scout-
ing will continue to be art activity
in this community. "Our girls
want and need scouting," said
Mrs. Helm "but the program can-
not be successful unless the adult#
of our community are willing to
participate in this worthwhile pro-
gram. It is hoped that many par-
ents will show their interest and
willingness to suppoit the pro-
gram by attending this meeting.”
Girl Scouting is open to all
girls between the ages of 7 and IK.
The aims of the program arc: 1. To
help each girl to become a happy,
confident and useful member of
her troop, home, school and
church. 2. To help all girls to
learn to work and play together
demon atically so that they may
become responsible citizens of
their community and country.
Giri Scouting begins with the
Individual girl and her develop-
ment through group experience.
If offers her interesting recrea-
tional activity In formal, friendly
relation with adults, fun with
others of her own age and work
In a group small enough for each
girl to take a responsible part.
Help provide this constructive
leisure time activity for the girls
of this community by being pre-
sent at this meeting Tuesday
