As a leader of the Blackjack
4-H Club over the last 30 years,
Mrs. Brown has worked with a
total of 50 youths. In this club
she has worked with 4-H’ers in
Praoject Areas such as Citizen-
ship, Foods and Nutrition, Food
Preservation, Clothing, Housing
and Home Improvement, Lead-
ership, Forestry, Swine, and
Poultry.
As a result of Mrs. Brown’s
leadership, 4-H members have
gained knowledge, developed,
skills, and developed leadership
abilities. '
She has been an active mem-
ber of the 4-H Volunteer Adult
Leader’s Association. She is
presently serving as Vice-Chair-
man, but has also served as
Chairman and Secretary of the
Association.
Wiley College Slates
Summer School
May 5, 1980, Marshall, Tx — Wiley College will be holding
Summer School beginning June 2, 1980 through July 11, 1980
(a six-week session) according to Dr. David R. Houston, Vice
President for Academic Affairs.
Important Dates:
June 2, 1980 — Registration for Summer School - 8:00 a.m.
June 3, 1980 — Classes Begin *
June 6, 1980 — Last day for registration and course change
June 27, 1980 — Last day to withdraw without receiving a
failing grade
July 4, 1980 — Holiday (Independence Day)
July 10, 1980 — Summer Convocation
Jyly 11, 1980 — Final Examinations and close of summer
session
Dr. Houston announced that classes will meet daily, unless
indicated, Monday through Friday.

Over 60 courses will be offered in biology, business, chem-
istry, economics, education, english, humanities, history, HRM
(Hotel & Restaurant Management), mathematics, music, natur-
al science, philosophy, physical education, physics, political
science, religion and sociology.
"Tuition" rates are scheduled at a rate of $63.00 per semes-
ter hour. All charges for the summer are due and payable at
the time of registration.
Dr. Houston asks that individuals in the surrounding count-
ies (Gregg, Harrison, Panola, Marion and Upshur) would take
advantage of the opportunities being offered by Wiley through
the Tartt Scholarship Fund. Further recommended is that any-
one wishing to further their educational bounds area sked to
