THE FAMILY THAT COOKS TOGETHER-Cooks for the week
are Johnny, Fran, Johnna and Jenna Patterson of Cunningham.
They are a family on the go and everyone pitches in to help. (Staff
Photo)
Country Cooking
When you see this lady, you think
pink! Mary Kay pink that is! She
just became the proud owner of a
brand new 1995 Grand Prix, cour-
tesy of Mary Kay Cosmetics and a
lot of long, hard hours selling and re-
cruiting members. We are talking
about Fran Patterson of Cunningham.
When I first talked to Fran about this
column, she told me that Johnny was
really (he cook of the house. Be-
cause without him, she just couldn't
make it. Oh, and did I forget to men-
tion two little people that live with
them, by the names of Johnna and
Jenna, their daughters. All three of
them help her in many ways around
the house and in her Mary Kay busi-
ness.
Ft n has been employed with the
Prairiland ISD for 12-1/2 years and
has taught as a coach and English
teacher. She is currently the coun-
selor for the Deport campus and has
been involved with Mai^ Kay Cos-
metics for 16 months.
Johnny works for the USDA as a
field specialist. He also farms and
ranches and is a member of the PISD
School Board
Johnna Shea is eight years old and
is in the second grade at Deport and
Jenna Rhea is four years old.
Fran is the daughter of Pete and
L'Wanda McKnight of Cunningham
and they farm and ranch and
L'Wanda is a beautician and has even
been recruited by Fran herself to sell
Mary Kay. They are all members of
the Life Tabernacle Church in Cun-
ningham.
Fran began her career with Mary
Kay in June of 1993 for the single
purpose of getting her products at
cost. Little did she know what her
future had in store for her. She at-
tended a seminar in Dallas and after
that, there was no stopping her. She
recruited 14 more ladies and was on
her way to the keys to the new car!
She enjoys the recognition the or-
ganization brings to it's members and
has set up goals that she knows that,
she can reach. With the help of
Johnny and the girls, she knows that
they are within her grasp.
I intended this article to be about
some quick dishes, because this
family is always on the go. As we
talked, Fran let me know right away
that Johnny is her mainstay and she
depends on him and the girls to keep
her on her toes!
Fran has given us her recipe for
her Chocolate Sheet Cake that they
enjoy and can carry to family events
and many different things. She has
also included a Com Casserole she
makes that sound delicious and
quick.
The girls added their Dirt Cake,
complete with Gummy Worms!
Johnny sent his Picante Sauce
Recipe along with his Homemade'
Chili, Cherry Delight Salad and Easy
Pumpkin Log.
