Cotton Receipts Nearly 10,000
Weigher Stalls reports 9970
bales of cotton received at tbe
local platform this season up un
til Tuesday night. Receipts the
past few days have averaged
about 25 bales per day. Prices
being paid were around 23#
rents. Seed were quoted at $10
per ton.

Mrs. S. H. Kinsey suffered a
painful accident Monday of last
week, which kept her a shut in
for a week Her cow stepped
on her foot, breaking the bone in
the little toe, and spreading the
bones in the foot. Tho not able
to wear a shoe, she can get
about and the foot is healing.

Nyle McArthur, the 1H year-
old son of J. R. McArthur and
wife, who has been ill several
days with pneumonia, is improv-

Ice Jam in Red River
The mid winter session at C.
I. A. will open on Jan. 5 instead
of the 2 as previously announced.
A considerable amount- of float
ing ice is reported in Red River,
probably drifting down from the
formerly | Panhandle country. At Arthur
City an ice jam resulted from the
two terry boats forming ;t bridge
across the stream, and it was
nc-cesaary to take the boats out
to permit the icc to pass.
