Funeral For
Mrs. Watson, Sat.
Mrs. Minnie Watson, 97, died
at 2:45 a.m. Friday at Haskell
County Hospital where she had
been a patient 11 days.
Funeral services were held
Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Four-
square Church here with the
Rev. Carl Pool, pastor of Ham-
lin Foursquare Church, officia-
ting, assisted by the Rev. Roy
Herricks, pastor of the Haskell
Church.
Burial was in Willow Ceme-
tery under direction of Holden-
McCauley Funeral Home.
She was born January 9,1871,
near Buckholtz. She married
Edward Strickland September
28, 1887, in Cameron. He died

in 1920.
She came to Haskell County in
1908 and settled near Roches-
ter, living there 32 years be-
fore moving to Haskell in 1940.
Surviving are three daugh-
ters, Mrs. Mary Turpen, Has-
kell, Mrs. Matilda Hearn of
Rochester and Mrs. Lillie
Greenwood of Haskell; a son,
Clarence C. Strickland of Knox
City; two sisters, Mrs. Ida
Jones of Rochester and Mrs.
Mattie Taft of O’Donnell; 22
grandchildren, 77 great-grand-
children and 65 great-great-
grandchildren.

Buried Tuesday
Funeral for Mrs. Emma L.
Cummings, 88, who died at
3:30 a.m. Sunday in the Has-
kell County Hospital wqs held
at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the' First"
Methodist Church here. The
Rev. J. V. Patterson, pastor,
officiated.
Burial was in Willow Ceme-
tery here under direction of
Holden - McCauley Funeral
Home.
She had been a patient in the
hospital for 10 days and had
been a resident of the Rice
Springs Care Home for 1 1/2
years.
Born Oct. 31, 1879, in
Eddington, Pa., she had lived
most of her life in Philadel-
phia and came to Haskell in 1948,.
to make her home with her
daughter and son-inVlaw, Mr.
and Mrs. Gene Tonn.\ She was
married Nov. 5, 1900,\ in Phil-
adelphia, to Harry Sidney Cum-
mings. He died in 1907. She was
a member of the First Metho-
dist Church here. i
Survivors include two daugh-
ters, Mrs. Mildred Tqnn of
Haskell and Mrs. Miriam Jame-
son of Longport, N. J.| one
son, Henry (Budd) CumriHings
of Mill Valley, Calif.; two
grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren.
One daughter preceded her in
death.
Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Nell
Brewer of Houston; one grand-
daughter, four great-grandchil-
dren.
Pallbearers were Bob Sego,
Pete Frierson, E. C. Collins,
Ottie Johnson, Alfred Turnbow
and Kirby Kirkpatrick.

Mary E. Mullins
Mrs. Mary E. Mullins, 82,
died at 6:10 a.m. Thursday in
the Haskell County Hospital.
She had been ill for about
a month.
Funeral was held at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday in the Church of Christ
in Haskell, with John Greason
of Rule officiating. Burial was
in Willow Cemetery under di-
rection of Holden-McCauley

Born March 9,1885, inRobin-
son County, Texas, she was
married April 13, 1904, in
Franklin to Pink Mullins. He
died Sept. 9, 1962.
Survivors include seven
daughters, Mrs. CoraMeans,of

of Victoria, Mrs. Floy Ehlers
of Prairie Hill, Mrs. Berdie

Buried Sunday
Mrs. Kittie D. Lawson, 84, Has
Cleburne, Texas., died at 5
a.m. Saturday in Johnson Coun-
ty Memorial Hospital in Cle-
burne where she had been a
patient for one week.
She was born August 13,1883,
in Lewisburg, Tenn.
Funeral was held Sunday at
2 p.m. in the First Methodist
Church here with the pastor,
the Rev. J. V. Pattersbn of-
ficiating. Burial was in Willow
Cemetery with Holden-Mc-
Cauley Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawson came
to Haskell in 1911 from Grayson
County and moved to Morton
in 1928. They moved back to
Haskell in 1952 and to Cleburne
two years ago.
She is survived by two daugh-
ters, Mrs. E. H. Baugh of Cle-
burne and Mrs. Avis Hollo-
man of Portales, N. M.; one
brother, Jim Maxwell of Blue,
Funeraji services for Mrs. S.
Moore wqre held at 4 p.m. Sun-
day in the First Baptist Church
in Haskell with the Rev. Troy
Culpepper officiating. Burial
was in Willow Cemetery at Has-
kell under the direction of
Holden-McCauley Funeral
Home.

Mrs. Moore died at 11:45 p.m.
Friday in Haskell County Hos-
pital after a two-day illness.
Mrs. Moore moved to Rotan
from Snyder in 1927 and Has-
kell from Rotan in 1943. Her
first marriage was to Edward
C. Lane in 1900. He died in
1903. She married S. Moore
in 1910. He died in 1946.

Haiskell Chapter 892 Order of
the Eastern Star and was a
member of the First Baptist
Church.
Sjurvivors include two sons,
Edwin C. Lane of Atlanta, Ga.,
Rotiert A. Lane of Haskell; one
stepson, John A. Moore of Sny-
der; two stepdaughters, Mrs.
J. B. Robinson of Kemah, Mrs.
Bowtlen DeLoach of Snyder;
thre^ grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren, and 32
step great-grandchildren, and
three \step great-great-grand-
childreji.

Williams Tuesday
Funeral services for O. T.
Williams, 57, were held Tues-
day at 4 p.m. in the Trinity
Baptist Church in Haskell, with
the Rev. Jesse Jones, former
pastor officiating. Burial was
in Willow Cemetery under the
direction of Holden-McCauley
Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams, father of Mrs.
Thurman Jones of California,
formerly of Rochester, died
Sunday at 5:15 p.m. in Haskell
County Hospital.
He was born March 9, 1911,
in Haskell County. He was an
employee of the Maintenance
crew for Precinct 4, Haskell
County.
He married O’Leta Mae
Israel, May 31, 1930 in Altus,
Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife;
five daughters, Mrs. PeggySel-
man of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Betty
Raynes of Weinert, Mrs. Sam-
mie Howeth of Fort Worth,
Mrs. Patsy Jones of Gardenia,
Calif., and Mrs. Shirley Curd
of Fort Worth; two sons, Rex,
of Norco, Calif., and Jim Bob
of Fort Worth; two brothers,
Joe of Oklahoma City, and Ro-
bert of Brownwood; five sisters,
Mrs. Callie Crane of Oklahoma
City, Mrs. Lottie Newton of Sey-
mour, Mrs. Dollie Via of Okla-
homa City, Mrs. Alice Ram-
saier of Lubbock, and Mrs. Aly-
lor Bonner of El Reno, Okla-
homa; 13 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
S. P. Kuenstler
Dies Thursday
Funeral services for S. P.
Kuenstler were held Friday in
the First Baptist Church in Has-
kell, with the Rev. Troy Cul-
pepper, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Willow Cemetery
under the direction of Holden-
McCauley Funeral Home, Inc.
Mr. Kuenstler, 73, longtime
Haskell businessman, died at
4:10 a.m. Thursday in Haskell
County Hospital. He had been in
ill health about eight days.
Born July 26, 1894, in Cuero,
Lavaca County, he was a vete-
ran of World War I, and opera-
ted a wholesale and retail gaso-
line and oil business here since
1921, coming here in 1910. He
was married September 13,1919
in Stamford to Lula Mae Ar-
nold.
Survivors include his wife,
one son, Paul A. of Mesa, Ariz.;
four brothers, W. V. ofOdessa,
V. E. of Abilene, John of Has-
kell and Louie of Haskell; two
sisters, Mrs. Lillie Wilson of
San Angelo and Mrs. Roy Over-
ton of Haskell; a granddaughter,
Mrs. Jonny Greer of Mesa,
Ariz.; and a grandson, Paul
Arnold Jr. of Tempe, Ariz.
Pallbearers were Allen
Overton, J. B. Kuenstler, Roddy
Kuenstler, John H. Hisey, John
Kline and C. A. Gibson.
