Vincent P. Goforth
Helen Mazzo
Helen Mazzo, age 79, of
Richardson, Texas passed away
Wednesday, September 21,2005, in
Bonham, Texas.
Services were 1:00 p.m.
Monday, September 26, 2005, at
Aulds Funeral Home with Rev.
David Kraeger, Pastor of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church of Windthorst,
Texas, officiating. Interment was
in the Archer City Cemetery under
the direction of Aulds Funeral
Home of Archer City.
Mrs. Mazzo was bom Au-
gust 2,1926 in Henrietta, Texas to
Theodore Kuykendall and Sarah
Elizabeth Harvey Kuykendall. She
and Paul Mazzo were married Feb-
ruary 12,1945 in Midland, Texas.
Mrs. Mazzo was a full time
mother and best friend to six chil-
dren, seven grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren. She was a
member of St. Paul Catholic Church
in Richardson.
Survivors include her hus-
band, Paul of Richardson; three
daughters, Diane Simons and hus-
band, Ron of Granbury, Texas,
Paula Craig of Garland, Texas, and
Anna Mazzo of Richardson; three
sons, Tony Mazzo of Cresson,
Texas, Pat Mazzo and wife,

Michelle of Richardson, and James
Mazzo and wife, Terri of Oak Point,
Texas; four sisters, Lena Kinsey of
Archer City, Hazel Pruitt of
Longview, and Ethyl Cooley of
Bowie, Texas, and Ruby Davis of
Trinity, Texas; three brothers. Lynn
Kuykendall of Anchorage, Alaska,
Bud Kuykendall of Sandia, Texas
and Gene Kuykendall of Grand Prai-
rie, Texas; seven grandchildren; and
five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by two brothers, Noel Kuykendall
and Lewis Kuykendall.
The family suggests memori-
als to the Alzheimer’s Association,
4144 North Central Expressway,
Dallas, Texas 75204.
Violet Lewis Lacey
Violet Lewis Lacey, age 99, of Archer County and a long time
of Archer City passed away
Wednesday, September 21,2005,
in the Archer City Nursing Center.
Graveside services
were 10:30 a.m. Friday, September
23,2005, in the Archer City Cem-
etery with Roger Deerinwater, Pas-
tor of the First Baptist Church of
Archer City, officiating. Arrange-
ments were under the direction of
Aulds Funeral Home of Archer
City.
The family received friends
Thursday, September 22, 2005,
from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the
funeral home.
Mrs. Lacey was bom De-
cember 10,1905 to C. A. Lewis and
Parkey M. Sherman Lewis in Ar-
cher City.
She was a lifetime resident
member of the First Christian
Church. Violet was a nurse and was
employed at the Archer City Nurs-
ing Center for over twenty years.
Survivors include two
daughters, Dorothy Wright of Ar-
cher City, and Joan Pinnell of
Melrose, New Mexico; two sisters,
Edith Wright of Archer City, and
Anita Mills of Wichita Falls, Texas;
seven grandchildren; twenty-two
great-grandchildren; and seven
great-great-grandchildren.

Ham, Casey Johle, Tod Pinnell, and
John Wright.

Carl W. Peden
Carl W. Peden, age 84, of Ar-
cher City, Texas passed away Sat-
urday, September 24, 2005, in
Wichita Falls, Texas.
Services were 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday, September 28,2005, at
the First Baptist Church of Archer
City with Roger Deerinwater, Pas-
tor, officiating. Interment was in the
Joy, Texas Cemetery under the di-
rection of Aulds Funeral Home.
The family received friends
Tuesday, September 27,2005 from
6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the fu-
neral home.
Carl was bom August29,1921
to Homer Roy Peden and Nora Belle
Childress Peden in Joy, Texas. He
and Dale Watson were married May
23,1942 in Joy.
Mr. Peden was a veteran of
the United States Army having
served during World War II. He
was employed by Bridwell Oil Com-
pany on a spudder for twenty-eight
years. In 1968, he started Peden
Tank Truck Service which he oper-
ated until his retirement in 1990. He
was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Archer City. He served
on the Archer City City Council.
His favorite pastime was fishing
and hunting.
Survivors include his wife,
Dale of Archer City; two daughters,

Carol Waddell and husband, Otis
of Arlington, Texas, Charolette
Starks and husband, Tommy of
Lewisville; two sons, David Peden
and wife, Laura of Joy, Texas, and
Danny Peden and wife, Melissa of
Wichita Falls; one brother, Wilburn
Peden of Midland, Texas; one sis-
ter, Doris Haigood of Joy; thirteen
grandchildren; and twenty-seven
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
one brother, Elgan Roy Peden, one
grandson, Barry Peden, one great-
granddaughter, Danya Peden and
one great-grandson, Carlton,
Westbrook.
The family suggests memo-
rials to Hospice of Wichita Falls,
4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls,
Texas 76310.

day, September 23,2005, at his resi-
dence.

Vincent Paul, the son of
Charles A. Goforth and Pauline
“Polly” Owen Goforth, was bom
June 5,1957 in San Antonio, Texas.
He was a 1975 graduate of Archer
City High School.
He and Brenda Meyer were
married April 7,1979 in Archer City,
Texas.
Mr. Goforth has been em-
ployed by TXU Electric Delivery
since July 1978 and was currently a
Senior Distribution Operations
Technician. He was a member of
the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Brenda of the home; two daugh-
ters, Kari Goforth of Fort Worth,
Texas and Erica Goforth of Archer
City; one brother, Victor Goforth of
Archer City; and his father-in-law
and mother-in-law, Bill and Bobbie
Meyer of Archer City.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Charles A. Goforth on
July 31, 1999 and Pauline “Polly”
Owen Goforth on August 16,1999;
and his sister, Paula Kay Goforth
on January 2,1948.
Serving as pallbearers were
Delbert Berend, Ken Brashear,
Mike Calhoun, Mike Cavitt, Rich-
ard Hill, Mark Jentsch, Jack
Whitsitt, and Ronnie Wiliams.
