QUEEN OF WEEK
Texas TOPS 455 met at the
Methodist Church with 22
weighing in.
Maxine Mayer was queen of
the week with a seven and a
quarter pound loss. Cecile Scott
was runner up with a three and
three quarter pound loss.
Rita Young was named queen
for the month of January with 18-
and three fourths pounds lost.
Runner up was Lee Ellis with 4
and one fourth pounds lost.
Two new members were
introduced. These were Elsie
Cummings and Kate Perry.
Lois Godfrey will receive a
vacation charm and Delma
Brimer will receive a star for
ten pounds lost.
Valentines will be exchanged
next week.
Aransas Pass Woman's Club
will meet next Tuesday,
February 10, in the Rattan
Room of Duzich’s Little Bob's.
Guest speaker for the luncheon
and program will be Mrs.
Virginia Shaw, protective ser-
vice caseworker in Aransas
Pass for the State Department
of Public Welfare.
Hostesses for the luncheon
and program on family living
and child welfare will be Mrs.

Senior Citizens
Dance Feb. 12
A dance for all senior citizens
and their families will be held at
the Airport Recreation Building
north of Rockport on Thursday,
Feb. 12, beginning at 7 p.m.
Music will be provided by
Gene Rickies and refreshments
will be served. Admission will
be a donation of fifty cents.

Broccoli Omelet is made by filling a Basic Omelet with
cooked broccoli and topping with a creamy sauce and grated

They attended a meeting of
District 9 of the Christian
Church Council.

Mrs M L. Shaw recently were
Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Mylis of
Okmulgee, Okla. They visited
with relatives here and in
Portland.
Beat alt ingredients except butter until blended. Heat 10-inch omelet
pan or skillet with sloping sides over low heat one minute. Add
butter. Tilt pan to coat bottom and sides with melted butter. When
foam subsides, add egg mixture. Cook egg mixture over medium
heat, shaking pan gently in a back-arid forth motion. Tip pan
occasionally lifting edges of set egg mixture with rubber spatula to
allow uncooked portion to flow to bottom. Cook until egg mixture is
set and top is moist but not runny. Bottom should be slightly
browned. Slide omelet out of pan onto plate and fill with desired
fillings. Yield: 2 servings.

3 Tbsp. butter
1 Tbsp flour
'/• tsp. salt
2/3 cup half-and-half cream
VS cup grated Swiss cheese
1 cup chopped Texas broccoli,
cooked and drained

Basic Omelet
Melt two tablespoons butter in skillet and cook mushrooms over
medium heat until tender. In medium saucepan, melt one tablespoon
butter over low heat. Add flour and salt; cook until mixture is
smooth and bubbly, stirring constantly. Stir in half-and-half. Heat to
boiling; boil and stir one minute Remove from heat and add
mushrooms and '/> cup cheese. Preheat oven to 550 degrees. Prepare
Basic Omelet. Spoon broccoli down center of omelet; fold opposite
sides of omelet over filling to form roll. Top with mushroom-cheese
sauce and sprinkle with remaining V. cup of cheese. Broil until cheese
bubbles, about one minute. Serve immediately. Yield: 2 servings.

weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces
and has been named Jennifer
Celeste.

The two grandmothers have
returned home after visiting in
Hawaii for a month awaiting the
arrival of the new baby

DISTRICT MEETING of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)
was hosted by the Aransas Pass chapter Sunday at the Catholic HalL About 100
were present and represented Rockport, Robstown, Sinton, Kingsville, Corpus
ChriMi and Aransas Pass chapters. At the meeting, Rudy Torres, local LULAC past
president and current treasurer, announced that he would be a candidate for dis-
trict director in the March District 11 election. Mrs. Esther Fowler and Mrs. Kay
Tyler ad the Aransas Pass Eastern Star Chapter presented the Aransas Pass LULAC
chapter with a wool wall hanging on which is woven the symbolic Mexican eagle.
