Huipil panel

Description: Unused (neck opening never cut) huipil (woman's blouse). White cotton warp and weft handwoven on the back strap loom - technique called picb'il (supplementary weft brocade on a spaced or gauze weave textile - no supplemental weft). This style huipil is always wider than longer so the side panels will hang lower than the center panel. This huipil is never tucked into the skirt, thus giving the wearer freedom to move around and feel cool in the subtropical climate of 3500'.

Ceremonial skirt

Description: Ceremonial Skirt of ochre-orange cotton with purple stripes and metallic thread. One piece of fabric sew into a floor-length tube, with tripes running horizontally. Textile created on a backstrap loom, design motifs hand embroidered with couched metallic threads, with decorative band of densely-embroidered geometric motifs at the bottom hem.

Veil hatlet

Description: Hatlet of black velvet ribbon and net veiling. The headpiece consists of a flat black velvet ribbon bow with trailing ends that sits at top of wearer's head at center of a veil of fine black mesh.
