Nymphaea lutea, "Water Chinkapin"

Description: Still life photograph of Nymphaea lutea, or water chinquapin, arranged in jars, sitting on a table. A pocket knife is on the table. Water chinquapin is an aquatic perennial with large pale yellow flowers and circular leaves. In addition, the fruiting receptacle cradles fruits which resemble seeds. The plant is found in the Coastal Bend Region of Texas.

Left center on 7th Street and Lavaca two churches visible First Presbyterian Church (Original Site) on top and Cumberland Presbyterian on bottom (sold in 1955).
