Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with X B Cox. Cox joined the Army in June of 1937. He served with the 81st Airborne Antiaircraft Battalion. In June of 1944 Cox participated in the Normandy landings. In September 1944 Cox participated in Operation Market Garden, including riding a glider into Holland. Later in December 1944 through January 1945 he participated in the Siege of Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge. He provides details through each of these experiences.… more

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Eugene Spencer. Spencer joined the Navy in March of 1934. He completed metalsmith school. He was assigned to the Engineer Department in the Fire Room aboard the USS Porter (DD-356). He later moved into the engine room, where he served as water tender. Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with John Craddock. Craddock joined the Marine Corps in May 1942 and attended boot camp at Parris Island. He soon entered the V-12 program and upon completion returned to Parris Island. After further training at Camp Lejeune, he attended platoon commander’s training at Quantico. Oral History Interview with Darrell McFadden, June 11, 2009

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Darrell McFadden. McFadden joined the Merchant Marines in March of 1944. He was traveled to Normandy, France; Antwerp, Belgium; Hull, England and the West Indies. In their convoys they hauled bomb casings and other equipment and supplies. When traveling aboard various liberty and victory ships, he served in utility and as hot shell man on the four-inch gun. He was discharged in 1947.
