Description: The basic shape is a T of the nutcracker. The top part of the T is the actual nut cracking contraption. It is set up similar to a vice with a T-shaped handle that screws. [Cylinder tape measure]

Description: Cylinder tape measure with the top and bottom painted maroon in the center of the top is a brass folding flush handle which extends to the other side and looks like a button. The edge is painted gold and has a square opening with two cylinder posts that help the linen tape pull out. The tape is supposed to be 100ft long, but the 1st two inches have been torn off. [Stock and die]

Description: The stock of the die is rectangular shaped with two long handles that come out opposite sides. One handle is part of the rectangle while the other screws on to tighten or loosen the five dies inside the stock. The rectangular part of the stock has a 10.5 cm X 2.7 cm rectangular opening into which the dies fit. On the dies are several engraved numbers. [A Grist Mill]

Description: Color photograph of a red grist mill, a special antique relic on display at the 7th annual Texas Folklife Festival. Knelt next to it is a man named Matt Pantalion, who is from Nacogdoches.
