The colorful floats to be used in the Cotton Bowl Parade New Yearts day are ready for last minute touches inside the automobile building at Fair Park. For the past five years, the parade has been staged at Fair Park. But this year's edition will roll through the heart of down- town Dallas. As usual, it will be nationally televized. Cathy Muirhead of Denton today christened the riverboat Associa- float sponsored by the Texas Cotton Ginners' tion. The chicken-wire frame is covered with nearly one-thousand pounds of cotton, colored with florescent paint. The float was designed by David Reeves of Dallas, Cathy, a junior at Texas Woman's University, is one of 20 finalists in the Maid of Cotton Contest. A winner will be selected in Memphis, Tennessee Friday night.
