ARTS EDUCATION PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
I am pleased to send you a copy of the video containing three 90-second public service announcements (PSAs). These PSAs were done as a joint project last fall with Fox Children's Network and were designed for six to eleven year olds to stimulate children's positive attitudes toward the arts. They have been airing during Saturday morning children's prime viewing hours. Each of the three PSAs tells a story, giving concrete examples of the ways in which the arts can be relevant and enriching to children's lives. One segment portrays a young girl's dream of a career as an art director on music videos; another introduces a boy enthralled with rap music set to a Beethoven symphony; and the third shows an Indiana Jones-inspired character named South Dakota Smith who searches the jungles for the perfect artwork for a museum exhibit. I hope you enjoy viewing them and sharing them with others who may have an interest in alternative formats for stimulating children's interest in the arts. LLD:al Attachment
