City Secretary Roy Bateman, enters 48th District Court

Seven city council candidates were removed from the
official ballot for next Tuesday's election. Bateman
contended they were ineligible, because they failedto file campaign expense reports before the deadline
set by city ordinance. But, after hearing the first
of four suits contesting the action --Judge Walter
.Jordan rules that all seven names must be reinstated.
Johnndroef
says he will advise Bateman to abide by the
ruling. The case heard was that filed by attorney
W.O. Freeman in behalf of ' is ifife's candidacy. W
