Compatriot Frank Watkins, Chairman of the Expansion Comittee, filed
his report which stated he had contacted the committee members as
to recommendations to continue the growth of the Texas Society and
asked to state where we candor new chapters. The chairman met with
the Order of Grenaderos de Galvez and a uainted them with the SAF:
requirements. He also met with the reunion of the Casey family with
the prospect of 19 new members.
Compatriot George tr andau , Long F;ange Planning Committee gave
report on the meeting held Friday afternoon. A discussion was held
on a Joint DF:-SR Project. Compatriot Eddleman was asked by
the President to contact Mrs. Tiner as to any -future joint
endeavors. The Chairman than discussed the recommendation of the
Long Range Planning Committe as to the Oration Contest and the
rationalgef their recommendation
Th n Compatriot randau made a motion that this year we conduct 4
regional contest with the 4 winners of the contest advance to the
state contest to be held at the Annual Meeting. The motion was
seconded.
Compatriot Winston asked when the contest would be held. It was
stated that it be held at the discretion of the President and the
Chairman of the Committee.fter much discussion the motion carried.
Compatriot Marion Cole. Chairman of Medal and Award Committee stated
that he would like a report on Awards given to each ROTC in their
area. He recommended that Jack Wright for Gold Good Citizenship
Medal and the nomination o+ beorQe Brandau for the ninutean ifward
Motion was seconded and motion was carried.
Compatriot Fowler, Public Relation Committee filed a report, The
report was on the improvement of the Bulletin to be increased in
pages and quality. He had done studies on the cost of this.
improvement and will remot to the Patriot Fund Project the
expenditure of the sum of $q,000.00 to be added to the amount
already expended by the society on the bulletin. He fLuher
recommended that the annual budget be gradually i ncreasesd to cover
the cost of a magazine that would be worthy of the Society.
Compatriot Kidwell brought up that the expenditure of money by the
Patriot Fund was not aut!rized and should be the General Fund.
The question was referred to the Chancellor tt stated that the
funds could be used for such a project.A motion was made that a recomendation to the Patriot
F'roject for the expenditure of $3,000.00 in order to have a
class magazine. It was seconded and the motion carried.Fund
firstA motion was made that the Board of Managers give consideration to
whatever revisions in the annual budget is necessary to gradually
