President Kenneth Ingram presided.
The invocation was given hy Ehaplain Frank.
The Registrar reported on the number of /\ppl .i atlL[Si wnd Hupp i
ementals he had received since March 1, 191. This report,
was given by Chapters. It waspointed out that if we continur-e
at the present rate we will be ahead of past 'ears.
A motion was made, seconded and passed that Comatrint Pritchard
and Compatriot Morgan be nomina Lod to fill Whe vacancy in Districtr
No. 1 and 2, respectively.
Compatriot Jessee reported on the number of books printed and
the number he had had bound.
Compatriot Ingram reported on his meeting, in Austin, witi the
committee involved concerning the mandatory teaching of history,
etc., in the Public Schools. He stated that he had met with
the committee and had read our Resolution to them. By vote of
the committee the bill was returned to sub-committee for
further study. It was recommended that copies of our Resol-
ution not be sent to the Representnativcs and Senators, nor the
news media, until the bill comes out of committee. Compatriot
Ingram will keep in touch with CLupatrints Linston and Tumey n
this matter.
Compatriot Ingram stated that he would write to each Vice-Presiden
and ask that they check out the dormant Chapters in their Distrir ts,
to ascertain what they intended do to about reactivating. It
was suggested that when Chapter checks are mailed to suggest that
if the Chapter was not going to use the money that it be donated
to the Patriots' Fund.
Compatriot Brakebill thanked the hoard frnr awarding h s wife 1-h
Martha Washington medal, for her help on the Congress.
