Transcript of script: "GALVESTON--A UNION SPOKESMAN SAYS WEST GULF LONGSHOREMEN WILL NOT HOLD FURTHER TALKS WITH SHIPPING OFFICIALS UNTIL A PACKAGE PROPOSAL IS MADE. THE FIRST WEST GULF NEGOTIATIONS IN THE LONGSHOREMEN'S STRIKE WERE ENDED ABRUPTLY YESTERDAY. UNION OFFICIALS SAY THE SHIPPERS HAVE FAILED TO MAKE A CONTRACT OFFER. NEGOTIATIONS WERE SCHEDULED IN GALVESTON AFTER UNION OFFICIALS ANNOUNCED IN NEW YORK MONDAY THAT A TENTATIVE CONTRACT SETTLEMENT HAD BEEN REACHED WITH NORTH ATLANTIC SHIPPING ASSOCIATIONS. THE GALVESTON TALKS WERE THE FIRST IN THE WEST GULF SINCE THE LONGSHOREMEN WALKED OUT DECEMBER 20TH AFTER A TAFT-HARTLEY INJUNCTION EXPIRED."
