CHROMA-KEY STILLFRAME: PICKETOVER MOC LOWER RIGHT
IronWorkers Local 263 put up the pickets early this
morning, and some of the other union workers refusedto cross the lines.
Local 263 Business Manager
Charles Lowery said the union has been trying
un-successfully for three weeks to reach an agreement
with grading-and-draingage contractor Holloway
Construction Company.

Some workers said over 175 men stayed off the job
today, although an airport official put the figure atcloser to 80 or 100.
The official -- who referred
to the situation as a "wild-cat strike" -- said: "We
are always concerned with labor troubles. I hope thisdoesn't hurt us too much."
The grading and drainage
work is about 38% complete, and is considered "on
schedule."
The airport official said about 150 men
were still working at the site today.
