The Texas senate has passed and sent to the house a
348 million dollar tax bill. And there are indica-
tions the house will turn it down because it taxes
leadership
beer and liquor, something the house s firmly
against.-The bill, introduced by senator Ralph Hall of
Rockwall, raises the sales tax to three and a quarter
cents.....
places beer and liquor under the sales tax blanket...
raises the tax on cigarettes by five cents a package..
and increases the production tax on natural gas by
one-half of one-percent. All three senators from the
Fort Worth Dallas area voted for the bill, which was
approved by a vote of 22 to eight.
Senator Hall's bill also calls for one-dollar tax on
tickets to dirty movies...and the man MXXOX1 who
would decide whether or not a film is naughty is
