Dallas County Commissioners have approved a 20-percent pay raise for themselves and 34 other officials..but it may not be a permanent situation. The raise..effective December I6th..will probably be erased January first..when state law puts the County officials &n a lower pay bracket.Right now.. Dallas County officials are higher paid than those in Harris County..but when the new Census figures on population become official in January..Dallas County will fall below Harris County in pay scales. District Attorney Henry Wade will be asked to interpret the law..to determine whether the Commissioners will have to give up their self.administered raises.
