1/22RJE160Q EATON 6 P.M. STANDUP It's been almost impossible in the last few weeks to go anywhere in the Fort Worth area without hearing one or more rumors about the future of General Dynamics/Fort Worth and its epmloyment levels. Adverse criticism of the quality and future of the F-111, plus the fact that General Dy namics is the citys largest single employer has prompted a great deal of concern. Today General Dynamics President Frank W. Davis tried to quell the rumors by saying employment would drop about 2,000 persons at the plant. He said the average employment would be about 26,000 during 1970 down almost 2,000 from the 1969 average of 27,986. In October of last year a total of 29236 persons were working at the plant. The predicted 1970 average employment of 26,000 would be about 3,200 below the peak 1969 employment.
