INSTITUTED JULY 4, 1876 ORGANIZED APRIL 30, 1889
Dear Compatriot:
Congratulations on becoming a member of the National Society of the Sons of the
American Revolution. As you know, we in the SAR are dedicated to carrying out
patriotic, historical, and educational programs in our home communities. Now you, as a
member of this Society, have the opportunity to join your fellow Compatriots in carrying
out these Society objectives.
Enclosed are your Membership Certificate and a Record Copy of your Membership
Application.
We encourage you to help our organization grow by sponsoring other males in your
family to join. The information you provided on your application can make the
application process much simpler for your father, grandfather, brothers, uncles, cousins,
nephews, and sons, when tracing lineage to the same ancestor. We also offer reduced
application fees for certain family members and family members filing for membership at
the same time. See our website for details and pricing by visiting www.sar.org, and then
clicking on "Costs" under the Membership tab.
If you have friends who might be interested and eligible for membership, "State
Contacts" for each state society can also be found under the Membership tab. That
contact assists prospective members with the application process, and can direct them to
local chapters in their areas. Your efforts will be of tremendous service to the Society.
Again, congratulations on becoming a member of the SAR. I am confident you will enjoy
your membership and will display your membership certificate with great pride. Wear
your Rosette proudly!
Very truly yours,
J. Michael Tomme, Sr.
