4The Oklahoma Sooners today beat the odds, the Texas
Longhorns, and a Darrel Royal team for the second
in a row in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas today. The final
score was Oklahoma , Texas 0 . The game
was marked by tough defense on both sides and several
key turnovers. The Sooners lost the ball -2,_times
on fumbles ( but managed to take theball from the 'Horns
ti es, which proved to be
the major difference in the game. Oklahoma really had
only one = scoring drive, that one _____------7____,and was topped off by an 8-yard Greg Pruitt touchdown
run.
The other Oklahoma scores came on twoyfield goals,
a blocked tlick recovered for a touchdown, and fumble
Severed for a touchdown. Texas was never able to move
the ball effectively against the Sooners. We'll have
