The Curator's Committee
The James E. Kemp Gallery of the Junior Black Academy of Arts and Letters presents a
yearly program of visual arts exhibitions. These exhibitions highlight the works of
nationally and internationally acclaimed artists as well as those promising new artists.
The Gallery is curated by a volunteer committee comprised of professional artists and
museum curators. The committee determines the exhibitions for a year and designs the
programming such as workshops, gallery talks, and lectures which occur in association
with the show. It is responsible also for reviewing and selecting the craft items and
wearable art available in JBAAL's gift shop.
The Gallery Curator Committee consists of Lric Key, Anita Knox, Nathaniel Wilson,
Vicki Meek and Oscar McNary.
Vhe Junior Black Academy of Arts and Letters 1989-90 Programs are supported in part by the Texas
