Notes

Description from donor: "UNT Student @elisa_rdrgz responds to a tweet talking about the University’s response to the covid-19 pandemic. The President’s decision to cancel Spring Break of 2021 sparked outrage among students. The reasoning behind the cancellation is that all the students going home on public transportation will cause a spike in covid-19 cases. Spring Break is seen as a necessary mental break for students, and with the added stress of a majority of classes being online in the coming spring semester, the loss of spring break was devastating to many. Removal of spring break for covid-19 prevention did not fare well with the decision to continue with football season, where many students post pictures on their social media in the stands not wearing masks or social distancing. This file is important to me because I agree with the sentiment, I feel that the removal of spring break will lead to students being more burnt out at the end of the semester, and our grades will suffer in the end. I also don’t understand why football season with fans is continuing, when that does nothing to help combat the spread of covid-19. "
