In the photo on the left at the Boston National Society Congress Past President of the TXSSAR,
Frank Gibson accepted awards for the T XSS AR from President General Howard Horne: The
President General's Color Guard Trophy, The William M Melone Award (largest number of new
and approved supplemental applications), The George S and Stella M Knight Award, The Eugene
C. McGuire Award (enrolled the most grandsons and nephews of S AR and DAR members), The Robert L. Taft Award (largest number of new members) and the
Walter G Sterling Award (largest number of new members transferred from C AR).
On the right is a photo taken at the NSSAR Annual Congress, recently held in Boston, MA. John C. (Jack) Haughton was installed as the Vice President General
of the NSS AR International District. Compatriot Haughton is a Perpetual Member of the Plano Chapter, and Denton Chapter T XSS AR. The NSS AR Interna-
tional District is defined as responsible for SAR members residing in "all remaining territory outside the other districts." In other words, the International
District is comprised of Canada, Mexico and all remaining territory outside of the United States and outside of the Continent of Europe. Large numbers of U.S.
citizens now travel, work, and retire outside the U.S. NSSAR also includes members that are citizens of other countries, whose ancestors supported the American
Revolutionary cause. The goal is provide an interactive organization that will allow these members to participate in the NSSAR and promote the SAR objectives
around the world.
