sent the Force Feed Warehouse as
1982 Employee of the Year.
Rosnosky's first assignment was
as puller on second shift where she
quickly gained the respect of her
co-workers while working up to be
lead person. Roznosky has since
transferred to first shift Pulling De-
partment and is one of three lead
persons. She very capably runs
the department whenever her su-
pervisor is absent. Bob Elder, Cen-
ter 0803 manager, comments,
"Geraldine is very dependable
1! and Company-minded. But the
real plus is that she is a good
leader who sets an example for
others, an excellent example."
Linda Ward of the Shipping De-
partment at Distribution Center
0903-Charleston, S.C. was chosen
as the 1982 Employee of the Year,
and for good reason! Manager
Chan Olson states, "Linda aggres-
sively approaches and accom-
plishes all work with determination
and complete knowledge of her as-
1 signed job. When the work sched-
ule becomes tight, she is always
ready and willing to increase her
own efforts to pitch in to cheerfully
help other departments when re-
quired." Ward is an active partici-
pant in the Center 0903 Safety
Committee and served on the
1981 Christmas dinner/dance
committee.
Joy Taylor, computer terminal
operator in receiving and inven-
tory control at Tandy Electronics
IWarehouse, Fort Worth, Texas,
represents TEW as the 1982 Em-
ployee of the Year. This busy
mother of three teenagers came to
TEW in August 1979 as an order
puller. After demonstrating her ini-
tiative, accuracy of work and de-
pendability, she progressed
through several responsible as-
signments to this newly-
established position when they
became computerized. "During
1982, Joy cheerfully accepted ex-
panded responsibility for accurate
and timely entry of Key Recs and
tracking and inventory control of
merchandise from receipt through
quality clearance to stock or other
INTERCOM, APRIL 1983disposition. in addition, she
trained two co-workers as back-
ups to assure continuity of system
operations. Joy has a high level of
efficiency and a positive can-do at-
titude," says TEW General Man-
ager Bob Cochrane.

Selected as the 1982 Supervisor
of the Year at Distribution Center
0103-Randolph, Mass. is June Ga-
briel, supervisor of the Order Fill-
ing Department. A ten-year
veteran of the Company, Gabriel is
highly regarded by her superiors
and is well liked by her employees.
"June is always there when we
need her-she is a very dedicated
employee and is valued very highly
here," says Center 0103 Manager
Gordon Irwin.
Distribution Center 0203-Fort
Worth, Texas chose Virginia Smith
to represent the Top 500 Ware-
house as 1982 Supervisor of the
Year. Since joining Radio Shack in
1968, Smith has gained a thorough
knowledge of center operations.
She currently supervises the as-
sembly area at 0203. "Virginia has
always been Company-oriented,"
states Manager A. Lee Harris.
"She is not only loyal, but neverI.. 1 .
fails to boast of Radio Shack/
Tandy Corporation on or off the
job. She has earned the reputation
of being 'firm but fair' with her fel-
low employees. She sets a good
example for all by working hard
and being dependable and loyal."
Smith's outside interests in bowl-
ing and football come second
to her 3-year-old identical twin
granddaughters!
Honored as the Supervisor of
the Year at Distribution Center
0303-Garden Grove, Calif. is
Matilda Riemer, packing supervi-
sor. Riemer began her career with
Radio Shack in 1975 and has mas
aged the Packing Department at
0303 for the past five and a half
years. "Matilda is willing to learn
and is not afraid to assert herself,
desirable traits for any supervisor.
Add to that the fact that Matilda
works well with others and identi-
fies with the overall goals of the
center and you have a good super-
visor," commented Manager Ron
Atchley. In addition, Riemer is so
familiar with her work that she has
made many significant improve-
ments, as supervisor, in the Pack-
ing Department.
Larry Ricchi, manager of Distri-
bution Center 0403-Columbus,
Ohio, is pleased to nominate Tom
Burke for 1982 National Distribu-
tion Supervisor of the Year. "Tom
joined us in 1976 and was immedi-
ately recognized by his supervisor
as a rock-steady employee," said
Ricchi. "Since he was able to han-
dle just about any task assigned to
him, he was rewarded for his
performance-and Radio Shack
benefited-when he was pro-
moted to supervisor of the Receiv-
ing Department in 1980." It is
sometimes too easy to list the neg-
ative things about someone's per-
formance; it is harder to list the
positive aspects. "In Tom's case,
the positive list is not difficult,"
said Ricchi. "He is always there
when you need him and he knows
how to get the most out of his peo-
ple. Tom has the respect and un-
derstanding of not only his
employees, but of the other people
in the building. He knows how to
get the job done."
