District 0880 Manager Bill
Hunter is pleased to announce
three recent promotions and rec-
ognizes one of the leaders in his
district.
Deborah Garner is a new face in
the district, and has just been pro-
moted to manage Store 2438-
Danville-Ballou, Va., effective
January 27. Garner was a trainee
at Store 2336-Asheboro, N.C.
Congratulations and welcome to
District 0880.
Cynthia Dowdee has also re-
ceived a promotion. Formerly
manager of Store 1757-Durham,
N.C., Dowdee is the new manager
of Store 2319, the district office
store in Greensboro, N.C. She
joined Radio Shack on March 10,
1982, and was promoted to man-
ager of her first store on May 21,
1982, where she turned around a
losing store in only a month. Dow-
dee replaces former ManagerRatliff McMurray
Charlie Cotter, a 24-year Navy vet-
eran, who has stepped down in or-
der to spend more time with his
family.
Bob Ratliff, formerly of District
0596 and Store 8748-Anderson,
S.C., has moved north of the bor-
der to become the manager of "X"
Store 2335-Chapel Hill, N.C.
Ratliff is looking forward to the
challenge of managing an "X"
store, and has his future sights set
on a district manager's position.
Tony McMurray, manager of
Store 1763-Eden, N.C., is busily
proving that Radio Shack is, in-
deed, the place to be in '83. Mc-
Murray joined as a trainee at Store
1750-Greensboro, N.C. in Febru-
ary 1982, and was promoted to
manager of Store 1763 in July.
Presently, he sports a nifty 80%
sales gain, the highest year-to-
date 01-store sales gain in District

Barton, recently returned from Fort Worth,
receives his certificate of completion from
"C" Class and his third Manager of the
Month award in FY '83.i
Meet the District 0880 man-behind-the-
scenes: L. Spencer "Spence" Sharp.
Sharp makes sure that the district office
runs smoothly while DM Bill Hunter helps
his managers in the field. Spence has been
the district secretary since August 1982.Salesmakers receive 5-Year Pins from Joe Tanner
