Notes

The Howdy Room of the Memorial Union Building was a large gathering place and dance space for students. The two-story Memorial Union Building was built in 1948–1949, located on Chestnut Street on the campus of North Texas State Teachers College. The building was dedicated in 1949 on the 50th anniversary of the legislative act which established North Texas Normal College as a Texas state institution (March 31, 1899). In 1964, the Memorial Union Building was razed in preparation for the building of the new Student Union Building at North Texas State University.
