Call to Order
President Roger Wehr called the meeting to order at 9:09 am.
Invocation
Chaplain Bob Wehr gave the invocation.
Pledges
Sergeant-At-Arms Ned Myers led the reciting of pledges to the U.S., Texas and SAR flags by all Compatriots.
Introductions
President Roger Wehr introduced:
" Past Chapter Presidents Ron Carter, David Friels and John Anderson.
" Guests were Tom Van Fossen, President of the Dallas Chapter; Jim Hanlon, President of the Brazos Valley
Chapter, and candidate Ray Brewer.
Welcome
Compatriot Dick Lee was absent; therefore, President Roger Wehr welcomed those attending.
This Month during the American Revolution
Historian Allan Husch reported on some happenings in January during the American Revolution. He reported in 1776
$2 per month was rationed to POW Officers and the Battle of Princeton; in 1780 there was a mutiny at West Point; and
in 1781 was the Battle of Cowpens.
Awards & Recognitions
" President Roger Wehr presented a Distinguished Service Certificate and Medal to Jerry Cope.
" Three supplemental stars was presented to James Gibson, two to Richard Coffey and one to Bob Pope.
Treasurer's Report
Compatriot David Friels reported that all accounts are in order and gave the account balances. In December he
deposited the check for our hosting of last October's BOM which slightly doubled our balance.
Secretary's Report
" The drafted minutes for last month's meeting were amended to reflect 21 members and 2 quests were in
attendance. The motion to approve was passed.
" The drafted minutes for the early Jan. Chapter BOM were approved as posted.
" Compatriot John Anderson reported the Chapter Annual Report is ready for mailing and a reminder that Annual
Dues are now past due.
State Activities Report
State Historian John Anderson reported the Texas SAR Annual Convention will be March 26-29 in The Woodlands
near Conroe TX.
Registrar's Report
Compatriot Kevin stated our chapter now has 83 members including 10 Junior, 4 reinstated and 9 new members.
Youth Awards
Chairman Ron Carter reported Jeff Meller is our chapter winner of the C.A.R. Essay and Knight Essay Contests. Hispaper work is being forward to Joe Sogan for state collection by John Hamlin.
