Biography Robert Moore
A native of North Texas, Robert Moore returned to Dallas after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University in 1977. Following college he worked for Harcourt Brace Javanovich in the Energy Publications Division as a graphic designer and at the Dallas Apparel Mart as a sales representative. But it was as one of the founding partners of Dallas Voice that he found a professional home in May 1984. Moore served as Advertising Director of Dallas' weekly GLBT paper until 1998. After the retirement of business partner Don Ritz, Moore became Publisher in that year. Ritz died in February 2001 and Moore became sole owner. Under the paper's leadership, the Voice has been strongly committed to building Dallas. The paper has partnered with a variety of events and organizations serving both the GLBT community and the city as a whole.
