Training: La Rue Johnson attended training for new coordinators on Friday, October
22nd, 2004.
Computer program: SVCI program database was installed on the RSVP computer on
March 3, 1997; Elsie Wiley delivered on-site training to staff and volunteers and
assisted the RSVP to enter 165 records (representing 165 infants enrolled by their
mothers into the reminder system) in February 1997. The updated SVCI program
database was installed on 11/9/98.
Activities report: Coverage at all hospitals has been maintained. With volunteer
recruitment continuing to be emphasized by Director and Coordinator; two
volunteers were recruited during the project period. The SVCI was at a number

Publicity continues to be sought and obtained program was promoted through
articles in the local newspapers and in the news
Problems reported: Tracking shot records for purposes of conducting evaluation are a
concern as well as finding new volunteers. Coordinator remains as an alternate
volunteer to enroll mothers on days without volunteer coverage.
Evaluation: A monitoring visit occurred on August 24, 2004 with satisfactory results.

Features: The RSVP of Travis County comes under the authority of the Travis County
Commissioner's Court. The local immunization coalition strongly supported the
initiation of an SVCI program as no other efforts had resulted in increasing the
preschool immunization rate. The continuing funding from Travis County is in
place. This year, the RSVP Advisory Council has raised and paid the matching
funds for the SVCI Program.
Training: Fred Lugo received training at UNT in May 1997; Volunteer Coordinator Della
Sprager received training on June 5, 1998; Ms. Sprager attended the training
update on October 22, 2004.
Computer program: Richard Brown installed SVCI program database in November 1997.
Elsie Wiley delivered on-site training to staff and volunteers in December 1997.
The updated SVCI program database was installed on 11/23/98.
Activities report: Coordinator continues to stress the need for recruitment of additional
