Instructions for Changing Your Schedule
Students who registered early for Fall, 1987 semester may make sched-
ule revisions on August 25-26, without a fee. See SCHEDULE REVISION
FOR STUDENTS WHO REGISTERED EARLY.
To Add a Class
August 31-Sept. 2 ONLY.
After a student has registered, he or she may add a class during the
Late Registration period in the Coliseum according to the alphabetical
schedule on page 5. Students must present an ADVISING CLEAR-
ANCE FORM and a valid student I.D. to enter the Coliseum.
a. Report to the Coliseum according to the Late Registration alpha-
betical schedule on page 5. Every student must present an
ADVISING CLEARANCE FORM and a VALID STUDENT I.D. to
enter the Coliseum.
b. Present an ADVISING CLEARANCE FORM with any necessary
departmental approvals. See the 1987-88 General Catalog for stu-
dent load information and course eligibility.
c. Check for dass section availability before completing the COURSE
REQUEST FORM.
d. Specific instructions for adding a dass will be available in the
Coliseum.
Each class added will result in a $5.00 Schedule Change Fee and
additional tuition and fees. The last day to add a class is Sept. 2, 1987.
To Drop a Class
August 31-Sept. 2
After a student has registered, he or she may drop a class in the
Coliseum or at the Registrar's Office during Late Registration.
To drop a class during Late Registration at the Coliseum a student
should:
a. Report to the Coliseum according to the Late Registration alpha-
betical schedule on page 5. Every student must present an
ADVISING CLEARANCE FORM and a VALID STUDENT I.D. to
enter the Coliseum.b. Obtain a COURSE REQUEST FORM and follow the instructions
on it for dropping a course.
c. Specific instructions will be available in the Coliseum.
d. If you are dropping your last class, see instructions for
withdrawal.
Sept. 3-11
A student may drop a course during this period in the Registrar's
Office without instructor approval. The last day for a refund for any
course dropped is Sept. 11.
Sept. 14-Oct. 9
A student may drop a course in the Registrar's Office with the written
approval of his or her instructor. An automatic grade of W will be
assigned.
Oct. 12-Nov. 25
A student may drop a course in the Registrar's Office with the written
approval of his or her instructor. A grade of W or WF as appropriate
will be assigned.
To Withdraw From The University
A student who wishes to withdraw from the University (drop all class-
es) after he or she has completed registration should do so at the
Registrar's Office. The student's I.D. card MUST be returned at this
time.
Sept. 14-Oct. 9
A student who withdraws from the University during this period will
receive an automatic grade of W in each course. The last day for
any partial refund of tuition upon withdrawal from the University is
Sept. 25. (See Fiscal Policies Section of the General Catalog for
refund information).
Oct. 12-Nov. 25
A student who withdraws from the University during this period will
receive a grade of W or WF as appropriate for each course.

Registration for Graduate Courses at TWU & ETSU
Through the Federation of North Texas Area Universities
NTSU students who wish to attend graduate courses offered by either
East Texas State University or Texas Woman's University, under the
cooperative enrollment program of the Federation of North Texas Area
Universities, should first secure the approval of their major advisor for
the specific course or courses to be registered for. The Advising Clear-
ance form and the Department Course Approval form should be pre-
sented at the Graduate Dean's Office, Administration Building, Room
206 for Registration in these courses. Students register at NTSU for the
ETSU or TWU courses desired under the appropriate NTSU depart-
mental prefix and course number 5900 or 5910 (for master's-level
courses) or 6900 or 6910 (for doctoral-level courses). Section numbers
for such enrollment are 790 through 799. The course title appearing on
the NTSU academic transcript will be identical with that of the course as
offered by the other institution. Class schedules for both ETSU and TWU
are available for consultation in the office of the Graduate Dean, NTSU.
Grades
Grade reports for those students who were enrolled in Summer &
Spring 1987, will be mailed to their permanent addresses.
In case you do not receive your grade report by mail, a student copy
will be available in the Registrar's Office. (See change of address
information.)
Housing Approval
Students who do not have at least 30 hours of credit are required to
arrange on-campus housing. Veterans, married students and students
living at home with their parents are exceptions to the on-campus rule.
Arrangements for such housing must be made prior to Registration with
the Housing Office. For further information, see Student Load Informa-
tion, University Housing brochure.Motor Vehicle Regulations
Students who operate motor vehicles on the NTSU campus must
comply with the Texas Uniform Traffic Code and the published Universi-
ty regulations regarding vehicle use, parking, display of decals, and
penalties for violation. The regulations are available at the University
Police Department in Sullivant Visitor Center, and are distributed to all
students during enrollment.
Student Load
Long Session. The normal load for full-time undergraduate students is
15 semester hours, exclusive of required physical education activity, for
each semester, or 30 semester hours during the long session of 9
months.
No student may hold a responsible extracurricular office who regis-
ters for or earns fewer than 9 semester hours of college work each
semester.
An undergraduate student with a grade point average of less than
3.0000 may schedule a maximum of 19 semester hours.
An undergraduate student with a grade point average of at least
3.0000 may enroll for a maximum of 21 semester hours, under the
following conditions:
a 3.0000 grade point average on a minimum of 15 hours residence
load for the semester just completed, a 3.0000 grade point average
on a minimum 12 hour residence load for the summer session just
completed, or a 3.0000 grade point average on all work completed
at NTSU and a minimum 24 hours credit in residence.
Summer Session. The normal load for full-time students is 6 semester
hours each term, or 12 semester hours for both summer terms.
An undergraduate student with a grade point average of less than
3.0000 may schedule a maximum of 7 semester hours each term or 14
semester hours for both summer terms.7
