P3,ntego hill in Southwest Arlington is roped-off
to motor traffic — but the traffic is heavy,
nonetheless, with Oub Scouts in Soap Box racers.
This is the second annual Soap Box races with
181 members of Oub Pack 181 out to root for
their favorites. 11 racers compete—all against
down
the stop-watch—and the course is/a steep hill.
Some of the home-made racers attain speeds
up to 30-miles-an-hour. The race cars are
built of scrap, and were made at an average
cost of 2-dollars-and-a-half...
