Well, I think for several hours.
So you were there for the remainder of the attack?

What kind of orders do you get?
Well, I was aware that they were trying to get the ship nder-
way. Of course, I don't know how they had hoped to get out
around the Oklahoma and get into the bay. I recall that there
was a record set in firing the boilers and making preparations
to get underway.
Normally, how long does it take to get a battleship underway?
At one time I had these figure on the top of my head. I don't
