The water is coming from a chute that is visible at the top of the photo. The water-wheel is attached to the building using a timber frame. The water-wheel is presumably in motion. There are trees next to the creek behind the water-wheel that appear to have barely any leaves on them. The ground next to the water-wheel and on the banks of the creek can be seen in the lower right of the photo with rocks scattered about.
