BALL QUEEN

LONG OF GIRLS

At Houston, a dozen Gulf Coast beauties compete for
the title Queen of the Houston Buffs baseball team.
The contest is held at Buff stadium, with the winner
getting a three-day trip to the World Series, a set
of matched luggage and dancing lessons. Each
contestant has a ,player-escort. All but two of the
girls are from Houston.

P LAYERS

Judges are six Houston players who get plenty of

assistance from the rest of the team.

THREE GIRLS

The winner is Miss Joan Bradshaw,               a
Houston elevator girl. In second place, Rosemary
McDougal of' Houston, on the left, and third place to
Vanita Davenport of Humble.   The honor of crowning
Miss Bradshaw goes to Buff Outfielder Van Harrington.
Miss* Bradshaw recently represented Texas in the
Miss Universe contest in California. She's 19, and

now she's Queen of the Buff s:
