John L. McCarty of the Estate Life Insurance
Company of Amarillo was a willing talker. He said
he gave rierson two-thousand dollars because he
thought Pierson needed it. McCarty also said
he had been talked into taking on the policies of
the defunct Physicians Life company by state
liquidators and that the action may bankrupt his
company. The senatorial probers closed their
investigation last night after accusing State
Insurance Commissioner Harrison of neglect of
duty and the senators promised more fireworks afterthe first of the year.
