Four miles southeast of Denton, ground breaking ceremonies are held for the new Denton State School for Retarded children. French M. Robertson of hospitals Abilene, board chairman for state and special schools, says the school will be the first of three now planned for the state under a 10-million dollar building program. The initial phase of the Denton school, says & Robertson, will cost nearly 3-million dollars and wigl provide facilities for six hundred retarded children. MED. MAN PAN WOMAN The sponsor of the bill which established the school, state representative Virginia Duff of Ferris, is introduced to the crowd of about 2-hundred attending.
