At 29.16 Amherst in Dallas, Miss Mansfield ts mother, Mrs.
Harry Peers, kept a telephone vigil throughout the night,
awaiting word from the search party. Mister Peers says
the telephone has been constantly, mostly calls
from friends wanting to know the latest news. Mrs. Peers
tells Texas Newsman Bob Welch the waiting ended shortly
after nine this morning, when word of the rescue reached

stunt. Miss Mansfieldts 11 year old daughter was told
the search was a promotion for a picture, but Miss Mans.

would not worry. In Nassau, Hargitay said any suggestion
of a publicity stunt was a lie. With tears in his eyes,
